Bob & Merrie Warner

A Merrie Sweepe Chimney Service was established in 1983 when Bob and Merrie Warner realized their teaching salaries were not enough.  Originally a part time-enterprise, the company grew quickly.  The early success and recognition can be partly attributed to the striking sight of Bob in his top hat driving their Volvo station wagon loaded with 20’ ladders.  More importantly, years of success were achieved because of the values Bob and Merrie engrained in their family-owned company, to provide safety to seacoast families through high quality service at an affordable price. 

In 2020, the ownership of A Merrie Sweepe transitioned to the next generation and lives on with Bob and Merrie’s ideals and guidance. This change has brought new ideas and perspectives into the business while preserving its deeply ingrained values.  We continue to embrace modern technology and deliver the traditional service our customers expect.

The main office and warehouse are now in  Autumn Pond Park (commercial condominiums) on Alden Avenue off Route 33  in Greenland, NH.  We service primarily the Greater Seacoast Area, with  extended forays out to further points for larger projects.

We are CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of America) and NFI (National Fireplace Institute) certified, and members of the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG).  We also belong to the Northeast Association of Chimney and Hearth Professionals (NEACHP).

We run our business with an easy-going family style atmosphere with flexible schedules and mutual respect for each employee's individuality and personal needs.  We  pay our staff highly, including profit sharing, provide medical  insurance contributions and expect great service and dedication in return.  We like  our work and do it with a smile.  Your suggestions are welcomed!  Let us  know how we do.

A  Merrie Sweepe Chimney Service’s mission is to promote chimney  safety and performance for our customers and in our community through  traditional, professional service and modern, expanding technology.  We  will constantly strive to improve and update our skills and to exceed  our customers' expectations.  We also pledge to deal honestly, fairly  and kindly with our customers and each other, maintaining high standards  and doing good in our community.

Chimney service has come a long way since the days of the poor climbing boys and crude brushes used more than a century ago in  England.  Today's sweep has a wide variety of sophisticated tools at  his/her disposal, both to make our job easier and also to provide more  thorough and detailed services.

The National Chimney Sweep Guild,  to which we belong, is a long-standing professional organization with a  history of regular workshops, ongoing technical education and annual  trade shows that promote the development of inventive tools and products  to do our job.

  • We'll  always be flexible about your individual needs and patient about  unusual requests and requirements.  We'll take your problems seriously.

  • We'll keep appointments, be on time, or call you.

  • We'll  protect your home with foot-wiping rugs, drop cloths, dust collecting  systems, appropriate staging and roof protection, and attention to  detail.

  • We'll treat your children and pets royally!

  • We'll explain things to you thoroughly and answer as many questions as you might have.

  • We'll do what we say we're going to do and then sometimes more.

  • If we make a mistake, we'll own up to it and make it right.

  • We'll constantly keep your safety and well-being at the forefront.

  • We will do unto you as we would have you do unto us should our roles be reversed.
